I know my oldest son continually drooled and watched our forks go from plate
to mouth during an entire meal. I offered him a small spoonful of rice
cereal and he gobbled it down with eagerness. He had a daily meal from then
on. He was three and a half months old. I felt odd starting so early, but
her REALLY wanted that food!!!!! My second son was exclusive breast for 7
months, and then only small amounts of solids till he was over one year old.
solids never really started till after he was 13-14 months.

I saw that I was practicing watching the child for when to introduce solids.
We did it in their own time.

Maybe parents just need to watch the child's cues more, and read less.
