Jean:  If the mom sleeps with her infant, her prolactin levels will remain
higher even if she is not nursing as frequently.  However, you are correct
in pointing this out.  It is typical in the US that we want or truly believe
that it is our right to get "a full night's sleep" even with a young infant.
If we truly supported moms during the day and let them nap, this would not
nearly be as much of an issue.  Still, Lactational Ammenorrhea is possible
even with babies who go 3-4 hours at night.  It is when we start having
several of these spans and any that hit 6 hours.
