Laurie, I have found that "very fast" pushing stage, though delighting mom,
often has a negative effect on the baby.  Lots of pressure on the head.  I
have worked with a number of babies who came very fast who needed C-S or
chiro work. Fast delivery has become a red flag for me.

Also, these quick deliveries often have more mucous and are extensively
suctioned, leaving a sore throat and a tongue that protects it.
