The SIDS info I've seen promotes
1. Back to sleep
2. Stop smoking around the baby.
3. Firm bedding
4. avoid overheating
5. Breastfeed
(also and I'm saying this with a :-) be born in summer, have an older
mother, be a girl, don't be premature, or a twin and come into the world at
age 5 mo - most SIDS occurs between 2-4 mo of age.
Like so much in life, nothing is simple, everything has multiple, complex
and interrelated reasons for being or happening. To just say back to sleep
will solve the problem misses the fact that this is just one thing to do of
several to help prevent SIDS.
The new posters I have in the office say the first 5 things :-) I think
they may be from TX, but I'm not sure.
Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
