Yikes, I was hoping for a good response and I'm getting one. The reason
I wrote this post is to bring some clarification to someone who is not
an LC but believes that this hold is the root of all evil and that all
LCs are in some great conspiracy to teach this as "THE" hold. She is the
one "seeing many moms with problems" and she thinks that CC hold is the
cause. I am trying to defend it as I use it when appropriate and I think
my technique is as good as anyone's. These thoughtful posts are exactly
what I need to get the idea across that this is not an epidemic with one
cause. I do tend to use the hold thru a whole feeding when it's useful,
but usually it is a good tool to assist with latch, with the good view
and good control and mom can settle into a "regular" cradle hold if she
desires and it fits the situation. Does this help explain my intentions?
Private posts can be sent to me at home at [log in to unmask] as I am
leaving for the weekend and won't be back to this address until Monday
am.
The words "it's a problem in chicago' were meant to be an exaggeration.
