for a mom with no milk at all? yes, if there isn't any formula being used
already and thus none in the house, or if the mom is going to go to the milk
bank immediately (i don't carry actual HM - yet - with me), of the baby is
so unhappy that he needs a few calories to just calm down enough to try the
SNS. but, no, not if the family already has formula (one mom with no milk had
already gotten nutramigen, wasn't so interested in donor milk for reasons i
never discerned) and really wants to use it.
just sort of depends on the situation. i have had a mom with full breasts and
baby who just got so upset and frustrated, no pump around, mom couldn't
express well or was so upset that speed was of the essence, and just a little
bit of glucose was the speediest answer.
AIM meaning formula? that's what i am assuming.
