I've searched the archives and found one posting regarding the sequestering
of iron during an illness.
I am wondering if the collective minds here have any further information.
History is 3.5 month old exclusively breastfed baby with bilateral otitis
media (bug running about all family members). Ped says bug bacterial due to
the nature of the fever. Temp of over 38 C for 4-5 days, presented to
pediatrician. CBC shows baby with a hgb of 101 and the hct is a bit low
too. After course of antibiotic treatment baby is back to usual self.
So any info about this low value in a other wise healthy baby?
