Dear Jo Anne and all LNers,
Thank you for your post. A few times I have kind of 'held her hand'
for a mother who is having difficulty and reviewed some of what she has
been through........18 hrs of labor, then a c/s, pain, edema in ankles,
maybe areola, then a sleepy baby who is having difficulty adjusting to
the extra-uterine world.....etc....... I have used this approach
because I've sensed somehow that the mom thinks she is being a big baby,
or she thinks she can't complain. I've seen many sighs of relief, but
have hoped I haven't made her feel worse!! Maybe I've been on the right
track!!!
Thanks for the affirmation.
