I have searched the archives and not found alot of infomation about
breastfeeding with Hepatitis C Virus. As far as I am imformed a mother with
only HCV can breastfeed, as long as the Anti-HCV-Antibodies are not too
high. Important to know is if the mother has HIV, then in the western world
breastfeeeding would be contraindicated. Am I correct in saying this? I
have been asked by a paedtrician who has a relative having an elective
caesarian tomorrow in Italy, who is HVC positive. I don't have more
infomation, but would like to give accurate infomation myself.
Thanks in advance, from warm Switzerland.
