This 5% is meant to define the number who don't produce enough milk to
breastfeed exclusively. Yeah, so, what about them? They can breastfeed and
supplement with a lactation aid. The 5% is usually brought up to justify
giving bottles, giving free samples of formula and all the other idiocies
which go on in hospitals or in doctors' offices.
I don't know where it comes from. It's probably a number drawn out of a
hat.
