July 17, 2000 -- Last week the American College of Obstetricians and
Gynecologists issued new guidelines encouraging providers to start educating
women about breastfeeding even before they're pregnant. They think hospital
stays should be lengthened so there's more time for breast ed -- and these
docs even suggest breastfed children might end up doing better on their SATs.
This is from the nurses web site with the awful "Beyond Breastfeeding"
column. Does anyone know where these guidelines were published? Is there a
standard ACOG journal?
