Okay, I know that I am venturing on the edge of not breastfeeding related so
please forgive me but this came up in my support group today and got me
wondering. I have a mom who always has burning nipples and her baby's
bottom is always bright red and raised and looks very painful. We have
discussed yeast and diet many times as this is the second baby I have worked
with her with and the first babe was the same. She has never stuck with an
elimination diet, she is now trying diflucan so we will see what happens
there. Anyway...both of her daughters are having problems with their
urethras closing, not just swollen I guess, but actually closing, and they
are both having surgery tommorow to reopen the urethra. This is the third
surgery for the older daughter who is 3 and the first for the six month old.
SO, is there any possibility of this being related to the constant
yeasty rash on the bottom...or is this a crazy thought?!
Thanks...sorry for venturing below the waist.
