Screening when there are significant risks factors is *not* the same as
universal screening.  A few years ago, some committee in the US wanted to
screen all 8 year olds (or some such age) for hyperlipidemia.  It would have
cost billions every year without any benefit proved (evidence based medicine
once again only for those with whom you don't agree), and the only thing it
would have done besides cost a fortune is make people think their children
were sick when they weren't.

Same idea with hormone replacement for menopausal women, but I won't go
there, and forget I mentioned it.
