Laurie:
We keep a deep, soft-sided super-strong 'brief case' (we pulled ours out of a
L'sEnd catalogue) in the office that we can take to any of the hospital
units that doesn't keep our supplies or handouts available. In one half we
put file folders with copies of some of our handouts. In the other half we'd
stash supplies we might need: we had enough room to keep an SNS, tape, soft
cup feeder, breast shells, etc. And of course our cards, flyers for peer
support groups. It's also a distinctive color - easy to spot if it's left
behind. (We're all menopausal are either forgetful or by now, our brains are
just FULL and the unimportant stuff spills out).
Then of course, there's the mini storage unit in your car ... pumps, kits,
etc. Oh, and kiss a closet or two goodbye...
But this has advantages, this private pratice: My toddler's first complete
sentence was spoken to our new Assistant Rector on his first pastoral call to
us. Gordon ran to the door, pulled it open and asked: "Do you need a
'bweast' pump?" No kidding.
Fr. Powell was charmed. He politely declined.
