Well, speaking personally, I *like* having breasts that play a role
in my sexuality and sex life (and that's all I'm saying : ) ) and I
don't think I'm alone....I think it's the 'object' bit of 'sex
objects' we should take exception to, and try to change.

Given this powerful emphasis on sex in Western society, it's women
who feel comfortable about their breasts and their role in their
sexual selves who are more likely to breastfeed - am I right? It's
women who *don't* feel ok about the sexual side of their bodies that
are more likely to use bottles, and formula.

We shouldn't be trying to encourage women - or men - to deny or
sublimate the breasts' sexual role, but to allow both roles - sexual
and nurturing - to take place in the appropriate context, and to
enjoy the wonderful verstaility of our human-ness.

It's been said on Lactnet before that several parts of the human body
have functional, nurturing, sexual, comforting etc roles all at the
same time...hands, mouths, fingers, penises, for example.

And ain't that grand??? : ))))
