Just wanted to quickly share two questions put to me (a lay breastfeeding
counselor) in just one morning:
Mom of one month old: "my pediatrician says there is not enough Vitamin D
in breastmilk and that I have to give my baby such-and-such vitamin
supplement. They never told me that in breastfeeding class"
My answer: "that's because it's not true." Oops. Didn't mean to say that!
Gave the correct information and the citations that support it.

Mom of nursing two year old: "my doctor tells me that if I am still
producing milk with a two year old child, I might have a prolactinoma. He
says that my milk isn't any good past six or seven months, and definitely not
after a year."
My answer: "AAAARGH!"
Sometimes I need to be reminded why I do what I do. Today was one of those
days!

will find myself out of my volunteer job anytime soon.
