Valerie, your discoveries and digging are absolutely chilling.

It is very, very depressing.

Your unstated implication - that this human lactoferrin is being
patented to make a 'super formula' that will be marketed as 'the
closest ever to breastmilk', except they'll come up with a better
slogan which could even indicate it's *better* than breastmilk -
seems clear. This stuff is coming from genetically modifed cows
inseminated with genetically modifed bull semen.  The effects on the
human race could be absolutely devastating.....but we won't ever
know. More likely there will be unobvious, less devastating effects,
like x per cent more cancer, y per cent more diabetes, z per cent
more auto-immune disease, and years and years of unresolved
controversy about whether the superformula is to blame...and whether
anyone should go back to 'regular' formula (don't know where bf wuld
be....)

The obvious reaction is to feel helpless.

An ignorant article appears in a newspaper and we can write or email
the editor.

A colleague says something stupid about bf, and we can educate.

A mother calls with a report of some mishandled bf situation, and we
can help her resolve it.

But what can anyone do when big business allies with government -
both worldwide - to set the scene for the monster formula? Write to
the politicians, hahah?

The truth is, no one really cares about bf, you know.  We lost the
birth battle, and now we're losing the bf battle.  And we're not even
allowed to acknowledge the struggle, in case it makes someone
somewhere feel guilty.
