Here's my two cents for what it's worth. I saw a lady for several months
who had a vomiter like this babe. This babe ended up with GI reflux and an
extremely sensitive gag reflex. As the weeks of nursing progressed and
mom's nipple relaxed and lengthened, the vomiting grew worse as the gag
reflex sensor was stimulated more and more. This babe ended up with an
altered, shallow latch, which by about 3-4 months had compromised mom's milk
supply.
Dietary changes didn't help, meds didn't help, and mom was extremely
stressed by all the clean up she had to do.
Take care,
Debbie Grant, RN
