Maybe this mom is thinking of the ketone smell (?) which can indicate
problems, on the breath of a diabetic? Maybe she thinks something is wrong
with the baby because of her background with diabetes? Or maybe the maple
syrup smell she has heard of? First thing I thought of is that it is normal
for the bf baby to have that sweet smell, esp. the breath. But if the mom
feels something is really wrong, then I would investigate further why she
thinks this, as mothers often "just know" that something is wrong and it is.
