Yes, I have seen yeast infection as early as day 2, and, in that case, mom
felt that she had had a vaginal yeast infection at delivery.

It is common for my clients to begin to see/feel symptoms of yeast from
6-14 days. Sometimes a mother calls at 2 weeks because she can't stand the
pain any longer (I am the familiar "last resort") and, in discussion, she
says that her pain was from the beginning, growing worse over the days.

I hope that the baby showed convincing signs of thrush to the Ped. I have
had several cases lately in which I "suggested" thrush, which didn't seem
to be thrush to the ped, only to have mom return 3 days later with a baby
and a "recognizable" case of thrush--and more-damaged nipples. Earlier
treatment would have made for earlier resolution.
