In response to your question about postpartum thyroiditis, it usually
describes a postpartum woman who develops abnormal thyroid function, either
high or low, that is not attributed to another type of thyroid disease,
such as graves, multinodular goiter, etc. My experience has been that they
develop a self-limited hyperthyroidism, and then they crash within 4-6
weeks, and develop a hypothyroidism. I didn't research the specifics
before writing this. Hope this helps! -
