Met Dr. Robert Hatcher (Contraceptive Technology) this past week during
an adolescent sexuality conference. He spoke about how unnatural modern
women's cycles are. Many women now have 300-500+ menstrual cycles in
their lifetime. Not too long ago women might have had 10-30 cycles over
their lifetime due to pregnancy and lactation. Granted they probably
would have eight or so children but he asserted it might be more natural
to have 20 cycles rather than 400 cycles in a lifetime. Made some sense
to me.

Why not just take the low level estrogen while breastfeeding? Why the
*need* to wean???
