Evelyn, I don't have the answers to the questions you asked, but your post
did raise red flags. Why is this baby only 2 ounces over birthweight at 5
weeks? If you're the 4th LC this mom has contacted and she's been in contact
with at least 2 physicians, she's known there's a supply problem for quite a
while. Why isn't the baby's weight appropriate? Is she really taking
anybody's advice? Is the SNS really the best way to feed this baby if he's
not gaining weight? Since that wasn't the point of your post perhaps there's
a reasonable explanation, but it made me wonder why this kiddo isn't taking
in enough food while everybody tries to help mom increase her milk supply.
