Hi Becky,
I saw a baby who had lost 2 lbs within two weeks, similar to what you
describe.  She did well with bolus supplementation at the breast to keep
her working at eating, as opposed to sleeping at the breast, but it took
a few weeks of work on her mom's part before she did well on her own.

This baby's ped tested liver function and for metabolic disorders, just
to be sure.  He said the liver function tests were just beginning to
become abnormal from the starvation.  I'm sure you'll be very vigilant
with this baby.
