I think you may mean Mepivacaine - a local anesthetic which is in Tom's 8th
ed. page 441.  It is similar to bupivacaine (which is preferred) and entry
into milk is theoretically low.  I'm sure the dentist has something else in
his armentarium that would do if he wants her to wean to use it !  Actually
I think once the numbness wears off it is gone and mom can nurse with no
problem.  Can't imagine what the other drug is.  Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
