I'm now editing (in my professional life) a commentary on a prayer book, and
the writer's comment on the fact that one word used to describe God in Hebrew
(and arabic, incidentally) is linguistically related to the word for "uterus"
is that God partakes of the emotions that "women naturally have for the fruit
of their womb."   Well, would that it were so.

And that's not even taking into account the cigarette burns (god forbid but
its out there), not to mention the many many potentially loving mothers who
decide to terminate the "fruit of their womb" this time for various horrible
or excellent reasons...

Sigh.  This kind of dopey essentiallism gets me down.
