I tell mothers that *many* women lose weight more easily while bf, though
*some* will find that the last few pounds do hang on stubbornly until weaning
for reasons that are really not clear. Also that if you are squirting X
number of calories out of your chest every day they have to come from
somewhere, and that for a lot of lucky women they seem to come from all that
pregnancy storage of fat; but that we don't understand well how that fact
interacts with hormonal control of weight, appetite, etc. In other words,
improves your odds, but no guarantees.
Now I guess I wonder whether it is really "not well understood" or just "not
well understood by me." If anyone knows more I am eager to learn it...
