I have searched and not found anything on this topic- I had a mother call,
extremely anxious and concerned about upcoming airplane travel with her
baby. It seems that she has a close friend who travelled by plane overseas
with her young baby, and shortly after the flight, I think the same day or
the next, the baby died of SIDS. I have not been able to find anything on
the topic. So far, the most I have been able to do is to reassure the
mother that her baby is more protected from so many things through the
breastfeeding, etc.... but this specific possible connection has left me
stumped. Has anyone heard of such incidents, or is it safe to assume that
this was just a terrible coincidence, having nothing to do with the
flight?
If anyone knows of references or anything, I would appreciate the
information, so I could perhaps help this mom make an informed decision.
Thanks in advance,
Jennie in Israel, where the humidity is high and the air conditioner is
crying,"help!".
