Dear Friends:
Terriann writes about inductions for convenience.
I did some research on induction on Medline. I can't find this one
particular abstract to give you the citation right now. However, the authors
said that one advantage of induction was that it supported a Monday through
Friday 9-5 obstetrical schedule, which made staffing easier. This was deemed
valuable in today's "health" economic paradigm. They are serious about this.
The national incidence of cesarean section shows that there are more
cesareans Monday through Friday than there are on weekends. When you consider
that inductions raise the odds of cesarean to 30-50%, then the reason is
clear.
Who said anything about breastfeeding?
YUK!!
