This mother has SLE and approx 30% kidney damage. Her most recent blood
tests have indicated that she needs to go back onto immunosuppressants and
Azathioprine is the one ordered. She's fully breastfeeding a 3 month old
baby.
Lactnet search (and Hales book) are very discouraging of this drug while
breastfeeding (other than Jack's suggestion to time the feeds due to its
short half-life).
Is there anything new anyone can add? Any other suggestions?
What about alternatives?
Thank you
Denise
(PS It's the same mother as in my last posting with the breast abscess...)
