I don't think that bringing up the cummulative issues that affect the health
of everyone is rude. Breastfeeding affects an entire population when you
look at issues of cost of illness, loss of intelligence, etc.
Car seats are also a group issue, we all pay the cost to society with loss
of life, head injuries and so on.
Immunizations are a public health issue as well, we continue to pay for the
cost of the polio epidemics in the 50's as people have health and access
issues related to that.
It is not rude to point out the fact that society is intradependent and we
pay for each other's health issues as a society.
