It is unorthodox treatment, as surgical drainage is the treatment of choice.
It would have kept the mother out of hospital.

If a galactocoele is that big and interferes with breastfeeding, it also
needs surgical drainage and *marsupialisation* (which I guess is appropriate
in Australia).

The affected side should have been expressed.  It may not absorb all by
itself and it may take a long time to do so.  It should not affect
subsequent lactations.
