The use of almond milk as a breastmilk substitute is acutally quite
historically based. I've seen several references of using almond
milk in medieval manuscripts if a mother dies or is unwilling (as in
the case of many nobilities) to breastfeed and no wet nurse is
available.
Not a recommendation by any means but just a historical note.

We have 18 years to teach our children independence.
Why try to do it all in the first year?
