While Ezzo's book is bad enough, the problem is there are also classes
these parents take that are even more rigid then the secular book available
at W--M---. It is true that the criticism received encourage some watering
down of the secular version most of us have access to, but nothing has
altered the classes. What goes on is suppose to be off limits for
discussion outside the room. Little like a cult?

I hear most often from the fathers of Ezzo babies because of the fear of
the mother's delicate nature being influenced by us Satanists trying to
prevent the baby from growing God's way. EEK Most often it is breast
infections, plugged ducts, slow weight gain, etc. I do not think this is
going to go away because the promise of a "good baby" and a "good wife" are
just so 'wonderful' an idea. What man could want more than a baby who
rarely dared to interfere with his life and what mother would want more
than a baby who joined the family without a dent in her daily routine. From
their religious point of view, it is also a sure way to have a God fearing,
respectful adult, etc. etc. blah blah blah

I am the mother of twins and I would never dared to try to schedule them
because how could I have kept track of who ate when and who should eat next
and keep up with the diapers and mothering that already drained my energy.
There was no schedule involved--just watch the babies and feel which breast
felt fullest to be sure each was fed enough. That was tiring. If I had to
figure in a schedule and watch the clock all day my goodness, that would
turn mothering into another job or task and drain the pleasure right out of
it. Oh, yeah, that is the point isn't it.

Carol B. , everytime I read a post of yours I smile and think so true. I
often like to think of moms who breastfeed in two categories, those that
feed and those that nurse. The difference between the two is huge. The
attitudes that guide their choices also effect their determination to
breastfeed if problems arise.
