Because they are inexpensive they may be the only viable way for
some families to afford double pumping. I know of one clinic that
loans them out for a $25 deposit. Mom of course pays for the kit,
but if she needed to start pumping in the hospital, she probably
already has that. When the pump is returned, she gets the $25
back. If it doesn't get returned, the $25 covers the cost of
replacing the pump (or at least very close to it).
