I am delighted to announce that Jeanne Mitchell, RN, IBCLC, has accepted a
position as Program Director for the Mothers' Milk Bank at Austin. Many of
you know Jeanne from her long career in the lactation field, most recently
from her work in the Texas Breastfeeding Initiative for the Texas
Department of Health. She's going to be a tremendous asset for the MMBA. I
couldn't be happier. :)
Our little milk bank has been in the news a few times lately, due to a
shortage of donor milk. Several other milk banks are suffering the same
fate, but we keep hanging in there. Send your healthy BF moms to your
regional milk bank!
That's us in the Dallas Morning News today
http://dallasnews.com/texas_southwest/61663_MILKBANK09.html
and were on KXAN-TV 36 (local NBC affiliate) 6 pm news this past week --
video clip and all. :)

We're also in the Austin American Statesman today but so far I can't find
an online link. Maybe later.
The Austin milk bank is still fairly limited in that we can only accept
donors who live in the Austin, TX metro area or those from other parts of
Texas if they can get their milk to us -- we're still working out shipping,
and plan to be able to accept out-of-area donors later this year.
Thanks for bearing with this shameless self-promotion.
Andrea Morgan
Executive Director, Mothers' Milk Bank at Austin
