Two thoughts occurred to me on reading your post, Barb.
Having spent several years erroneously diagnosed as having fibromyalgia
myself, I have done considerable research into this. I wasn't breastfeeding
at the time though.
Many women who have FM might benefit from the work of Ridha Arem, MD, an
endocrinologist at Baylor. He has had great success in treating some cases
of fibromyalgia with T3-T4 combined therapy. He has published a book on
this: "The Thyroid Solution".
As an additional thought has anyone heard of using iodine supplementation
such as that described by Dr. Christiane Northrup in her book "Women's
Bodies, Women's Wisdom." She suggests the use of iodine in several
different forms for breast pain.

Subject: Fibromyalgia and Breastfeeding
Hi Everyone: I'm new to Lactnet. I was wondering if anyone has had any
experience with women who have a history of fibromyalgia and
breastfeeding. I know someone who has it and is having pain in her breasts
during and after feedings. I doesn't seem like yeast, she seems convinced
it is related to her fibromyalgia. Thanks for your input. Barb,IBCLC, WI
