Valerie, I'm not persuaded that this is the dividing line between foods and
drugs. Is Jello a drug? Is Cheez-Whip a drug? Is St Johnswort a food? or
digitalis?
One could certainly make the argument that unnatural substances are more
appropriately regulated, but I'm not at all sure that the food/drug = seen in
nature / not seen in nature division is the basis for it.
