Terriann,
I, too, received the Whittlestone invitation to visit their booth at the
ILCA Conference. I won't be able to, though, because I am not financially
able to attend the conference, (I do wish I could but staying home with my
boys is more important than the money, anyway.)
I wasn't able to find a web site or a phone number for the company listed
as the return address on the envelope.
Anyway, several years ago I read about the Whittlestone in the older
"Breastfeeding and Human Lactation" (Riordan/Auerbach)and it is also in the
2nd edition. I couldn't find it in my new copy of Ruth Lawrence's. It
sounds like a good pump and I have always wanted to see what they work like.
I am curious and would love to see one and a demonstration. I would like to
see how comfortable and effective they actually are. And would like to know
if the flanges will come in different sizes to help those with larger
breasts/nipples, I have had so many clients with these difficulties lately.
I have, also heard mention of it at a couple of conference sessions I have
attended, but no one mentioning has ever seen one in the U.S. and assumed
they were no longer available. Of course, it now looks like they are making
a come back and will be available here.
