Dear Friends:
In response to Marsha's post, I am reminded of an article about
inflammatory breast cancer where the authors stress the need for follow-up
(mammogram, ultrasound, needle biopsy) if the symptoms of mastitis do not
change in a week's time of treatment. (Dahlbeck SW et al "Differentiating
Breast Cancer from Acute Mastitis" Am Fam Phys 1995; 52: 929-934).
As for pressing cells around, the pressure from lymphatic drainage
therapy is (please correct me if I am wrong), extremely gentle. More gentle
than a ill-fitting brassiere or a embracing baby or a loving husband.
    Warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, MSN, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CIMI, CSTP
