When I help a mom choose a way to artificially feed I go through a thought
process and I share it with the mom.

"Let's see, our goal is......This is where we are starting from........You have
such and such kind of nipples.......and your baby is feeding well (or not) from
them.....These are the problems we are trying to overcome......It seems logical
in this case to chose the Nuk or the SNS or the softcup feeder or......"

Moms like to hear this reasoning process because it helps them feel as if they
are being treated like individuals. And they are!  I have used the Nuk well at
times....I have also seen it (and every other way of artificially feeding) used
poorly. Moms and babies are individuals first!
