I agree.Your post reminded me of when the midwife asked me to breastfeed my
7-day old daughter while she did a heel-prick. I refused, saying that I would
put her to the breast just as soon as the heel prick had been carried out,
but that I didn't want the baby to associate being fed with having pain
inflicted on her. The midwife's rationale was that as the baby would be
relaxed when feeding, the blood would flow more easily.
