I have seen this in Asian women here in Australia, and I believe it is
widespread in other countries (just don't ask me where!) I know with Asian
women they believe that colostrum is bad for the baby, so they wait for the
milk to come in before B/F. In hospital they give the babies formula, I
don't know what they do at home. I'm not sure if it all has to do with the
hot/cold illness theory that affects much of their postpartum practices or
not.
