On the topic of dental caries I would like to add some comments. I have four
children all breastfed and all weaned naturally at varying extended
breastfeeding ages.

The first two have no cavities and they are currently 23 and 20 years old.
The third and fourth children, 16 and 13 years old, have several cavities.
All were breastfed at night and we practiced the family bed until they were
ready to leave. The only thing that was different with the two "sets" of
children is that we changed water sources.

The first two had well water from our city's wells. It was very high in
calcium and our appliances had a lot of calcium deposits on them. With the
younger two we switched to bottled water from a service company, and then
when our town switched to Lake Michigan water and we switched back to that.
I had no cavities until I got my first ones when I was pregnant at 27 years
old. My husband had a few cavities as a child.
