     It was good to see your excellent points on management of breastfeeding by mothers with long nipples, especially relevant in the newborn whose palate is short.  It was also good to see this topic linked to the strand on breast compression, as a means of improving milk transfer.
    What a bonus it is when a mother with very long nipples gives birth to a baby with a palate that is adequate in length, instead of having a mismatch!
     An old text used by child health nurses in Victoria, Australia, referred to this sort of nipple as "loganberry nipples" and viewed them as a potential problem.
