LLL has always believed and goes on believing that an infant or young baby
needs his mother wether she is or is not around. The fact that more and more
mothers have responsibilities which they can not or do not want to perform
with the child around (which does not just have to mean having a job outside
the home!) is a new challenge for LLL in helping mothers and babíes
breastfeed, even in special circumstances. It does not change LLL's primairy
vision. Not having had personal experience with working or other separation
and breastfeeding is the same as not having personal experience with lots of
other conditions and questions mothers come with: a LLLeader needs to have
personal experience breastfeeding a child and needs to have trained
counseling skills and knowledge to help mothers with the breastfeeding items
she does not have personal experience with. You don't have to have been a
wallpipe to become a plumber ... :-))
