Dear Elizabeth, I didn't mean that you didn't know what you are doing.  I
just meant that new babies must have bms-lots. I don't think enough people
observe stooling pattern as an important marker in the early days and
weeks.   If baby passes initial meconium in a basically normal fashion I
don't think we need to be thinking about exotic bowel malfunction at this
stage with a  10 oz. weight loss.  We need to think about "feed the baby."
