I appreciate the timing of the discussion on induced
lactation. As it has been awhile and I am a lurker I
will reintroduce myself. I am an OB nurse, and as of
last fall an LC. I am currently working with a mom
who is adopting an 8 week old child. I was able to
start her pumping approximately 5 days before she went
to the child. She has successfully nursed her own
children, the youngest of whom is 11 years old. She
is using a supplemental system with every feed (except
in public). She is not experiencing any of her own
milk that she is aware of as of 1 1/2 weeks of
pumping. Baby nurses every 3 hours for 20 min /per
side. She is taking Fenugreek. As we are only able
to communicate by net at the moment, I am giving her
lots of encouragement. What is the experience as to
when she might be expecting her own milk supply? She
is having some "tingling". TIA
