There are some studies on how glucose may decrease the baby's responses to
pain. Unfortunately, I do not have the studies available to me. Why doesn't
the OB use local anaesthetic instead? And then let the baby breastfeed
afterwards? Why does he not encourage parents not to have circumcisions done
for non religious reasons (please I don't want to start on this, but it is
part of the issue)?
