Sharon I fully agree, and I think that if researchers would realise just how
many babies do share beds with their parents, the statistics on the hazards
of co-sleeping as linked to SIDS would look all different. I mean if res.
think that *almost* all babies, let's say 95%? do sleep in their own
crib/bed and then they see that x% children who died of SIDS did so while
sleeping in their parents beds, the percentage seems higher than if you
assume that perhaps one-third or one-quarter of all babies share their
parents' beds. This could infact change the recommendations on co-sleeping.
Thank you for mentioning. In the recent media-discussions in The Netherlands
about co-sleeping and SIDSrisk as well as the internet sites about this
subj I just knew there was something wrong in the presentation of facts, but
I couldn't point it out. You showed me just the direction to look at.
And I think that the same mechanisme could be thrue for extended
breastfeeding both day and night in relation with dental caries intoddlers.
If dentists would know just how many toddlers do still breastfeed day and
night, without their moms telling anyone, espially not their dr or dentist
